Janielle Cuala

Medical Biophysics PhD Candidate

Hello!

My name is Janielle Cuala, and I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Guam.  I moved to California at 18 to pursue my love for science. I started at Saint Mary's College of California, transferred to Los Angeles City College (LACC), and finished my Bachelor's in Biochemistry at California State University, Los Angeles. I am pursuing my Ph.D. in medical biophysics at the University of Southern California (USC), studying how the only insulin-producing cell in your body, the beta cell, functions in hopes of contributing to finding a cure for diabetes.
